Show VIOLENT BATTLE ON BOTH SIDES OF DUKLA PASS j Washington, April .Violent fight-ins fight-ins on both sides of Dukla pass, where th0 Russians have been attacking without pause for twenty-four hours in an effort to force their way through the Carpathians, was described in a Vienna foreign office dispatch made public in a Vienna foreign oftieo dispatch dis-patch made public here tonight by the Austro-Hungarlan embassy. The Russians nut a new reserve force into action and the fighting in the Ondova and l.aboroza valley has been going on with great Intensity Against our brave troops yesterday numerous attacks of the enemy broke down with heavy losses. Especially violent was the fighting in the Uzsok pass region, and on the front west from there to the Halicrod road. "Up to the present the Russians, de spite strong attacks, have been unable un-able to realize their purpose of in vading Hungary. All the fighting la taking place in the Carpathians on Gallclan territorv, with the exception of the Ducla lowlands, where the Russians Rus-sians still occupy the same positions as in January w ith minor changes. |
