Show I HOUSTON MODIFIES QUARANTINE ORDERS Washington, April 4. With the live stock foot and mouth epidemic curbed, the department of agriculture today issued orders modifying quar-I quar-I antlne regulations in many of the Infected In-fected districts. The orders were the first issued since the campaign against the disease began last fall that added no new territory to the quarantined area. Reports during the past few weeks have shown steady Improvement In conditions, and on April 1 the department depart-ment announced that there was no animal in the United States suffering I with the disease. Since then there I have been reports of sporadic cases, but it is believed that complete eradication eradi-cation of the plague is almost in sight. Today's orders, effective at once, made in part the following changes: Iowa The counties of Cedar, lowa I and Johnson are made restricted area. Jone: county is made modified I area with the exception of Washington Washing-ton township, which is exposed. |
