FLYERS ELUDE PATROL Anti-Air Craft Guns Damaged Dam-aged One Zeppelin Score of Attacks Cause 100 Deaths. London, Aug. 13, o-35 p. m. Official Offi-cial announcement was made today on an airship rail last night on tho east coast of England. Six persons says, probably was damaged, dam-aged, but escaped. The official announcement say3 that six persons were killed, 23 were injured and 14 houses were damaged seriously by bombs. The text of the announcement follows: fol-lows: "Two Zeppelins visited the east coast last night, between 9:30 and 11:45. dropping incendiary and explosive explo-sive bombs in various places, resulting result-ing in the following casualties: Both Airships. "Killed, four men, two women; injured in-jured three men. 11 women, 9 children, chil-dren, all civilians. Fourteen houses were seriously damaged. The Zeppelins Zep-pelins were engaged at some points but succeeded in getting away from our aircraft patrols. One of tho Zeppelins was probably damaged by the mobile anti-aircraft section." Last night's raid of Zeppelins was the second this week. On Monday night Zeppelins flew over ,the English Eng-lish coast and with their bombs killed, 14 persons and wounded 14 others. These raids mark the renewal of the Zeppolin attacks on England after an interval of several weeks. The last previous raid, with the exception of a minor attack on Harwich early in July, was on June 15 when sixteen persons were killed and forty injured. In all there have been nearly a scoro of these attacks, resulting in the death of more than 100 persons. |
