Show EVELYN THAW TO ASSIST THE STATE Plattsburg, NT. Y., July -1. Evelyn Xesbitt Thaw will leave Chateaugay lake tomoiTow afternoon to assist tho state in its efforts to return Harry K. Thaw to Matte wan. Such is her condition that twice today a physician was called to "Camp Jack," where Mrs. Thaw is living, from the village of Chateaugay, eight miles away. She is on the verge of a complete nervous breakdown and her physicians have begged her to forego the trip. She says that she has decided that it is her duty to do what she can to help Deputy Attorney General Kennedy and that she will return to Chateaugay lake Immediately after lier testimony is taken. The mere mention of the cross-examination to which Mr. Stanchfield will subject her has an appalling effect upon he'r. The change in her appearance is remarkable re-markable Mrs. Thaw will be accompanied accom-panied by Jack Clifford, her dancing partner, and possibly her little son, Russell. She is due to arrive In New York at 5:05 Tuesday' morning. |
