Show TAILINGS MILL AT THE CACTUS While the men back of the big enterprise en-terprise have been reticent concerning publicity as to their accomplishments, It became known yesterday that the big plant which Is being erected for the treatment of the Cactus dump tailings tail-ings has so nearly reached completion that it is expected to be In regular operation by the middle of September. At the Cactus dump tho refuse after the ores from the Beaver county mine had been treated by the Cactus mill Is approximately 1,000,000 tons. This Is stated to be a conservative estimate but the matter of a few hundred thousand thou-sand tons one way or the other can have nothing to do with the success of the plan, which Is rapidly assuming assum-ing tangible and practical form. The new plant, which is so nearly completed, will havo a capacity of 500 tons nf fililtnrro rlollir . T J v.......bo uuui( LUC U1CIUUU UL treatment being the flotation mineral separation process. The exact ex-act proportion of the red metal in this great mass of waste is, naturally enough, not officially stated, but It Is conservatively estimated by experts to be close to .75 of 1 per cent. Officials of tho company are making mak-ing no statements as to their expected expect-ed profits in recovering part or all of this copper, but one member of tho company said yesterday that It was apparent that the men who havo undertaken un-dertaken this work had much faith In tho final success of their plans, as was evidenced by their quiet erection of the big plant to handle the dump. |
