Show w MILLIONS FROM THE MINES. An item appears In. the government guidebook for 1915 which is a reminder re-minder of tho mining boom which Nevada enjoyed with the discovery of Tonopah in 1910, a district which is estimated to have producod $60,000,-000. $60,000,-000. Tho discovery of gold at Goldfleld In 1902 was a direct outcome of the development at Tonopah. The deposits de-posits occur in Tertiary " volcanic rocks, but in form and character they are entirely different from 'the Tonopah Tono-pah veins. The total production from Goldfleld to the end of 1913 was over $65,000,000 In gold and silver. Of late years considerable copper has been, recovered from the concentrates concen-trates of the Goldfleld mills. Though there was a great stir over Tonopah and goldfleld, those districts fall far short of the output of the old Comstock. nn |
