Show 00 BISHOP ANDRUS IS DEAD AT OLD HOME Salt Lake, Dec. 9. Bishop James Andrus, pioneer of 1848 and one of the most prominent and widely-known men of southern Utah, died at his home in St. George at 5 30 o'clock yesterday morning. Word of his death came to this citv yesterday in a telegram from Edward H Snow president of St. George stake, to the first presidency of the Mormon church Besides being widely Interested In the business and Industry of the state was a member of the first state legls- I Mr. Andrus was active In politics, being be-ing always a stanch Democrat. He Lit 'ire and a candidate on the Demo-el Demo-el uric ticket for presidential elector . J for Wilson. As a churchman he was equally far-reaching in his influence, being a pioneer of St, George and for mnny years bishop there. He wag a member of the high council of St. George stake at the time of his death and a leader in every worthv undertaking, under-taking, both church and chic. In a business way the interests nf Mr Andrus embraced every line of Industry In-dustry of the south, from banking to manufacturing and stock raising."
