Show FORTY DELEGATES IT CONGREGATIONAL ASSOCIATION ( i With forty delegates present, active work was taken up today at the ses alons of the Congregational State as sociatlon of Utah which Is meeting in convention at the Congregational church Changes were made In the morning program for the reason that Rev. E I Goshen, Rev. S H Goodwin and A. H. Bard well, president of the Salt Lake Sunday School union, could not be present. The wet weather also caused a postponement of the automo bile ride through the canyon. The trip was to have been made today at the close of the afternoon session. Also the lunch, which was to have been given at the Congregational Country club, will be served In the church parlors this evening Following the devotional exercise, and the roll call, Biblical Interprets tions were given this morning by Rev Philip KlDg, Rev. Miles Fisher and Rev Frank G Brainerd Rev. P A Slmpkin presided during the Sunday school hour which began at 11 o'clock and following that there was a general discussion of metbodn and purposes by the delegates until the noon hour Mrs C. A. Walker presided at the session which began at 2 o'clock. The afternoop was turned over to the Women's Home Missionary union Th. program was as follows "The New China." Mr6 Inger Cham berlaln. "Our Obligation in Utah." Miss E Glle "Men and the Religion Movement." Dr. E P. Mills Sermon, Rev P A. Simpkin This evening the session will begin with a musical program to be followed bv an address by Rev Miles B. Fi3h er of San Erancisco and an address by Rev. Melville Tenney also of San Erancisco The convention will close tomorrow with the receiving of reports from standing committees and the election of officers |
