The discharge of a shift boss at the Paly The Reliably Jeweler West mine and the refusal othe company to declare lhat only union miners will he tmployed, was today the cause of 500 men going out ou a strike. The Paly West mine and mill, the Ontario mine, the Quincy and all the properties controlled by the Bamhergers, are involved. The trouble has been brewing for some time, and the local union claims the Bambergers have been unfair and have discriminated against union men. It is declared that union men have been discharged on slight pretects so the company could employ men. A committee from the miners went to the management this morning with the grievance. The details of the interview have not been made public, but it is understood all requests were refused as vrithin a few' minutes all union men were ordered out. The order came so quickly and was obeyed so promptly that there were not enough men left at the mnwti r MWt mines to close the properties down in the proper manner. Wbat the next move will be is a matter ot, conjecture. As far as the strikers are concerned, everything is quiet and ordeily.
