Show industrial TRUSTEES MEET superintendent THOMAS REPORTS ON PROGRESS attorney christensen of Salt Lake declines to handle habeas corpus case of harry from fridays standard the board of trustees of the state industrial school held their regular monthly meeting yesterday afternoon at the school all of the members being present with the exception ot harry joseph who Is visiting in now york superintendent thomas submitted a report of the condition of the school and tho progress 0 the work on the improvements that are being made the additions to the the ice house are both practically completed and will be ready for uso within a short time ho called the attention of the board to the routine that had ben established tor the daily work of the school which assistant superintendent kneass has placed on a military footing there being calad for drills and other work to be done he also pointed out that the primary reabon for boys to ing to run away from the school was due to the paroling of inmates they had earned the necessary credit marks which mad the other boys feel that they were not being given the somo favor as were somo others mrs fred morse of salt lake the mother of eddie fitzglibbon and mrs grant franklin the mother of claude franklin two of the boys who nere sent to tho school last month by judge brown of salt lake appeared befaro the board and asked that their sons be paroled as they were both going to move out of the state airs morse is going to chicago and mrs franklin Is going to move to los angeles the request 0 the mothers was granted and the superintendent instructed to take tho boys to the train on the day of their parents departure mrs careswell whose son from the school two year ao and who was returned recently asked eliat her son be paroled the request was denied president conroy of the board reported that james liaa been employed as steward at the school the services of A E peterson who haa been employed as instructor in blacksmithing at the school were dispensed with it having been decided to close the shop except tor half of tha day issue no 4 of volume no 1 of the industrial school advance was presented for the held for the robbery of the knitting factory next wednesday carl jennings will be brought to ogden to stand trial tor tha robbery of the knitting factory one year ago sheriff dailey went to salt lake and served the warrant of arrest jennings has not served the time he was given for housebreaking house breaking in the capital shortly after his crime in ogden jennings Jen was apprehended through a description that was received at the time bo broke into tho knitting factory when ho was sent to the penitentiary at alon his description was sent as custom requires to the sheriffs and jailers in the
