Show compliment IS PAID TO ALLISON BY industrial SCHOOL BOARD OF TRUSTEES at meeting resolutions are adopted complimenting retiring and wife on work aiom fridays standard the board of the state industrial school met last night instead of in the afternoon as is their custom owing as one ot the members of the blaid eald to trustee josephs desiring to see his friend kuchler nominated by the republican party for mayor of ogden his desire being gratified he was prepared to assist in transacting the business to come before the board trustee josephs reported that acids had been received for the brick work to be done on the small addition to be made to the main building at the school and that the contract had been let to george II 11 greenwell for the sum ot 1425 president conroy reported that M H ackret had been hired as a guard vice mr richardson discharged he also reported that a letter had been received from the governor complimenting the board on the amount of fire insurance on the school property on motion of joseph it was decided a wooden floor over the cement floor to the basement of the girls cottage joseph reported that the school had had an exhibit at the state fair which had been in charge ot superintendent allison and two of the boys from the school it was decided that aaron richardson who has escaped from the school several times and who was sent there from cache county and gustav sent to the school from box elder county both on the charge of burglary were incorrigible and a detriment to the school it was decided lo 10 turn the boys over to the sheriffs she riffa of the counties from which they were sent to the school and they will be tried on the charge tor which they were sent to the school A list of the names of forty seven girls who have been on parole from the school some tor a very long period wag discovered by the trustees and as all of the girls in question were married the board decided to order their discharge millie landsey who was sent to the school by judge patton was paroled the board deciding hat she was over IS years of age when sentenced and believing that she should no longer be held an application was received from leal taylor tor the position of superintendent in of the school and another from W E kneass for the position of assistant superintendent the following resolution was adopted by the board whereas mr E M allison sr having resigned the position of superintendent in of the state industrial school of utah and said resignation having been accepted by the board of trustees thereof therefore toe it resolved that the board of trustees fully realizes that in the retirement of mr allison the staleos sta leof utah has lost the services of a splendid servant and an able man that during the long and faithful service of mr allison as superintendent and his wife as matron of the territorial reform school and its successor the state industrial school they having devoted the better part of their lives to the cn work of reclaiming the youth of our state not for any pecuniary reward but because of their intense interest in such work the institution ution has developed into cm of the leading institutions of its nature in the country that the utmost kindly feelings of the members of the board both as individuals and as trustees follow mr and mrs allison with every wish for a long continuance of their useful and honored lives that this resolution be spread upon the records of this institution a coopy hereof be forwarded to gov john C cutler and a copy suitably prepared be presented to mr allison as a mark of esteem from this board all coupled with the wish that he and his wife mill nt all times feel perfectly free to call to the attention of the management of the institution any suggestion or render any assistance that they may deem to be in the inter eat ot the institution and the boys and girls ol 01 the institution the foregoing resolution was unanimously adopted at a meeting of the board of trustees of said institution held at ogden city utah october 12 EDWARD M CONROY president T C EVANS HARRY JOSEPH trustees attest CHAS secretary |
