Show NATIONAL headquarters ot hie national arts and science leagues will be at ogden on and after january ast 1st 1900 the convention this week has been fairly successful it was unfortunate that the holiday icek was selected by the national arts and science leagues as he time for an art convention for while the convention has been fairly successful it would have been much ni rc so it it had been held at some laer time the tact that the promoters ol 01 the convention desired to hold st in 1899 had something to do with abe selection of the date and then again it was the desire of miss L A mint national director of the leagues 0 have the organization of a league complete before 1900 tho last two meetings of the art were better attended and was a more active interest in ile work than in the earlier acet digs and there was therefore a moie factory result tho last meeting was held last night and was well attended most interesting and indicates a spirited growth in the league the following short history ol 01 the league and its work is banded in by miss mint the national liberal arts and science leagues organization is about seven years old with leagues and avei members the good of the organization demands that we locate temporary national headquarters until such a time as the work Is sufficiently developed to commence the building of the national memorial planned by the originator of the national liberal arts and leagues tho beautiful surround ings the areat advantages for natural art uie railroad advantages as well as tho fact that ogden is the central city of the intel mountain country together with the interest manifested by the people has determined this city as national headquarters of the leagues after jan 1 1900 and work will be sn immediately toward a summer school to be known as the utah N L S L summer art school which will he held in july and also for the N L A S L summer art school to be held jc the national park in august L A MINT national director |
