Show DECIDE TO BUILD A MILL ' O. B. Madson. of the board of county commissioners, returned from El;- this morning with the information informa-tion that the Marlon Mining & Milling Mill-ing company will Immediately build a five-stamp mill at the company's mines near Charleston, Nevada At a meeting of the board of "directors "di-rectors at Ely yesterday, it was deemed Imperative that a mill be erected at the earliest possible moment mo-ment and that the high grade ores now ready for handling be turned into bullion. The first shipments, Mr. Madson states, will run not less than $40 a ton In gold and the lower grades will not be handled until after the better alues have been disposed of. It is anticipated that the company will be compelled to put in a ten-stamp ten-stamp mill before the year Is over, for the properties that havo been developed de-veloped in tho past three years are showing better values and greater quantities in the ore belts than before be-fore and the ore veins are becoming more regular. Superintendent John Bevan Is here from the mines and he states that the company, without doubt, has a great mine. He has had charge of the work on tho properties from tho incention of the mining operations there. Ho states that he has blocked out more than $180,000 worth of ore and knows there is practically an In-exhaustable In-exhaustable supply to be -opened up. Commissioner Madson and Mr Bean will go ao Salt Lake this afternoon af-ternoon to negotiate for the machinery machin-ery for the mill, to be shipped to the scene of operation immediatelj'. There is an ample supply of water at the mines, even enough to establish a plant for the generating of electricity for the running of the mill. It planned, however, to put In gasoline power. |
