Show SALT LAKE" LEGISLATIVE TICKET IS NAMED Salt Lalce. Sept 25 It was ladies' day yesterday In Republican politics. Four women were the proud recipients recipi-ents of nominations for the state legislature leg-islature at the hands of the county Republican legislative convention In the Garrlck theater. Not only wore they chosen as nominees, but also thoy had the pleasure of listening to eloquent speakers as they extolled the virtues of womankind In genornl and tho superior qualities and qualifications qual-ifications of themselves In particular. A notable achievement on the part of the women was the nomination of Dr. Jane W. Skolfield for the lower house after she had failed to got a nomination for the state senate, Tho women who were chosen, all by handsome hand-some majorities, were, in addition to Dr. Skolfield, Mrs. Edith EUerbeck Read, wife of Charle3 Read, Mrs. Anna An-na H. King, wife of Howard A. King, and Mrs Annie Wells Cannon. Badger Loves Fight. From the standpoint of the politician, politi-cian, perhaps tho feature of the con-vestion con-vestion was the failure of State Son-otor Son-otor Carl A. Badger for ronominatlon. Senator Badger was beaten on the third ballot by Charles Cottrell, Jr. There was a well-founded report Thursday night that the powers that bo In Republican affairs were belnd Badger and Karl D. Hardy for tho senate, and V. E. Francisco for the house. In fact, It was rumored that "direct jorders" had been issued by tho state machinery for the nomination nomina-tion of Badger-and Hardy If that report was tho correct thing in reports re-ports it was extremely unfortunate for those who were mado favorites by tho slate-makers, for all of them wont down to dofoat.
