Moran Construction company says thnt he has never experienced better success In road work than at the present time on Grant avenue. Every man and team that can be handled is at work on the avenue and much dirt is being moved from tho avenue to west Twonty-fourth street, whero it will be used in the macadamizing macad-amizing of the thoroughfare west of the viaduct. The asphalt plant will be placed in repairs within the next few days. Tho work of patching Twcntv-fourth Twcntv-fourth and Twenty-fifth streets will bo begun a week from novt Monday, by which time the grading of Grant avenue will be completed and the grading gang will be moved to the Intersections In-tersections on Washington avenue. The city will remove the stone blocks on the Washington avenue and the Moran company will grade the places for the placing of the asphaltura pavement. pave-ment. While the patching of Tweniy-fourth Tweniy-fourth and Twenty-fifth streets is in progress, an extra gang of asphalt layers will be engaged on Grant ave-nu ave-nu , so that the work will progress rapidly whon It is once under way. Men will be brought from Salt Lake for the work. Tho steam roller has not yet -heen moved to west Twenty-fourth street by tho city but it was stated today by Commissioner J. C Nye and Road Supervisor Balch that the transfer will be made in the early part of next week. The material taken to the road between the west end of the viaduct and the Weber river crossing cross-ing will be made a wide and well macadamized ma-cadamized road In west Ogden, which will fill a long felt wanL nn |
