Show uu OPENING OF SCHOOL ON SEPTEMBER 9 The Ogden schools will open Mon-daj Mon-daj morning, September 9. Superintendent Superin-tendent J, M. Mills stated that practically prac-tically everything is in readiness for beginning a successful school year, both from the poiut of the faculty which has been engaged and the flno equipment which Is now in the possession pos-session of the board, including buildings build-ings and furnishings. Including "Ogden City and "Weber county.a total of more than 10,000 children will be enrolled. According to the recent school census there are 7,520 children in the city of a school age, and 11,375 outside the city in the county districts Tho ontire faculty for Jhe city schools, including tho high school, has l-een selected for tho year. The high school faculty still has two vacancies, which will be filled by September 7. These aro the position of teacher in manual training and shorthand teacher. teach-er. Many applications havo been made in each Instance and the appointments appoint-ments will be announced on the date mentioned, when the principals sftid supervisors meet for the first genoral conference. There will be twenty new teachers thiB year. Exten6ivo impiovements have been made by tho hoard of education, including in-cluding a nine-room addition to the Pingree school, a four-room addition to the Mound Fort school, whitewashed white-washed basements, resurfaced black boards, new school bookB, etc., all of the most modern character.
