Show GOLD MINE IS OWNED BY OGDEITES Judge H H. Henderson and Arthur Kuhn returned this morning from a trip to South Pass, Wyo where they g examined mining property In which they are Interested. They were pleased with what they saw and it is r, expected that extensive development l-work l-work will bo begun Tho Kuhn brothers and Mr. Hon-derEon Hon-derEon own the famous "Miner's Delight" De-light" mine at Atlantic City and thoy intend to renew operations on the property They state that millions of dollars have been taken from the great mine but that for the past ten years tho workings have been under wator, tho wator in the shafts reaching reach-ing a point, within forty feet of the surfoco. Pumps will be Installed There Is a mill at tho mines and, there aro eight claims in the property, all of which have been successfully mined to a greator or lesser extent. In all the mines values ranging from ?7 to $02,000 a ton In gold have been oncountored, tho average values being be-ing good on all lovols. The property has been neglected, sayB Arthur Kuhn and "high grading" was carried on to such an extent that the companies operating the pioporty gave up in despair. Senator W A. Clark owned the property at one time and did much work, shipping largo quantities of pay ore to a bmoltcr. He, howovcr, had other properties to look after and finally sold to tho present owners. Pumps have been ordered and tdhe romoval of tho water from the shafts will be begun early in the spring. Mr. Kuhn showed specimens of ore containing free gold In Blzes almost approaching nuggets and he said that some of tho ore ran as high as $G0,-000 $G0,-000 a ton In gold. Mr. Kuhn and Mr. Henderson wore caught In a snow storm on tho transcontinental trans-continental divide and hnd to walk through two feet of snow before thev got out. The property Is only thirty miles south from Lunder, tho termlnuB of a railroad. |
