Show THOUSANDS OF DUCKS ARE BURIED County Commissioner Moroni Skeen and Prcsldednt W H Anderson of the Wasatch gun club visited the club grounds on the shores of Salt Lnko Sunday and spent most of the day with a force of men, gathering and burying dead ducks. Fully five thousand thou-sand of tho birds were burled. The pentlemen stato that it ia Teal-ly Teal-ly astonishing to view tho shooting grounds all along tho lake shore from a point near the Weber river to tho entrance of Bear river to the lake. Tho ground dis literally covered with dead ducks, most of them having died on the wnter and drifted to tho shore. They eclaro that there are full3' 15,000 more dead ducks on their grounds that will bo carried away and destroyed before the end of tho week. The sme condition prevails on other oth-er grounds in tho vicinity of the lake and the same work will bo done to clear other places Mr. Anderaon says be believes there are as many as -10,000 dead birds on the Lake Shore gun club grounds. The disease Is confined almost exclusively ex-clusively to the pintail ducks, Sunday's Sun-day's gathering revealing not more than twenty dead ducks of other species. The reason for this peculiar ailment, ail-ment, among tho pintail, whilo other ducks are not afflicted, is unexplained. unexplain-ed. An encouraging feature of the investigations in-vestigations and work of last Sunday was that there were found but few sick ducks, the disease seemingly having abated. It is thought there will not be an afflicted duck on any of tho shooting grounds at tho time of the opening of the'd uck season.
