Show CUTTING THE ASSESSED VALUES The board of county commissioners held a session last night to pass on questions pertaining to assessed valuations val-uations on property in the countj taken under advisement after careful care-ful investigation on the part of the commissioners as a board of equalization equali-zation and review. Seven hundred complaints were presented pre-sented to the equalization board, two hundred of which were taken under advisement after the allotted time for the board to act in those matters had expired The work of tax assessment ajustment will be continued today with only two commissioners in attendance, at-tendance, Madson and Skecn, Commissioner Com-missioner Moore having been called to Nevada on Important mining business. The adjustments will be made at the earliest possible time and the commissioners com-missioners expect to hold dally sessions ses-sions until all the cases have been heard New complaints will not be considered At last night's session the complaints com-plaints from Kanesvillo, Rlverdale and Roy were taken up The final decision of the, commissioners was tnat the assessments should be reduced about 30 per cent. Farm and orchard lands that were valued at an average of $120 an acre were cut down to $S0. Today complaints offered by property prop-erty owners in Farr West, Harrisville and West Weber will be carefully considered. con-sidered. County Clerk Samuel Ehe has at work two extra shifts of clerks adjusting ad-justing the assessment rolls, one shift working at night. It likely will require re-quire a week or ten days to make the adjustments and plae the record in proper order for the use of the county treasurer. |
