Show HORRORS OF EARTHQUAKE United States Gunboat Visits Scene of Devastation De-vastation In Turkey Constantinople. Aug. 17. An appalling story of suffering and damage caused by the recent earthquake in the region re-gion about the Sea of Marmora was told by the members of the expedition disputohed on August 14 to the stricken strick-en district on board the U-nlted States gunboat Scorpion, guardslnp at Constantinople, Con-stantinople, which leturned here to-1 to-1 day.
