Show CHAUTAUQUA ELECTS ITS OFFICERS Dr. S W. Wherry was elected president presi-dent of tbo Utah Chautauqua association associa-tion at a meeting of the directors hold in, the .oillccs of thp board of education. educa-tion. David O. McKay and John S. Lewis were chosen vice-picsidents secretary, and O. A. Parmley treasurer, treas-urer, the two last-named officers succeeding suc-ceeding themselves as Incumbents of their respective offices. A number bf secret ballots to nominate nomi-nate a president were taken, John S Lewis, John M. Mills, Dr S W. Wherry Wher-ry and F. M. Driggs receiving a mu-lorjty mu-lorjty or the votes. Mr Lewis withdrew with-drew and tho others did likewise but the otlng continued until it wnsi decided to throw out all names except ex-cept Dr. Wherry aud Sui-erinloude'nt Mills. A final vote was then taken, 4 - resulting in seven votes for the Jor- gjf mer and six for the latter.
