Show AMERICAN TEAM IS GREETED IN STOCKHOLM. Stockholm, July 1 An immense crowd of those Identified with the Olympic games greeted the steamer Finland when she docked here yesterday yester-day morning. Ernlo Hjcrtborg, who is now the trainer of tnc Swedish team, J. S. Edstrom, vice president of tho Swedish Swe-dish Olympic committee and members of the American legation headed the delegation which boardo the Finland. Mr. Edstrom made a speech of welcome. wel-come. In which he said he expected the Americans to win the Olympiad, but added that tho Swedes hoped to teach them something. The majority of the American team made no attempt at exercise yesterday expect to take long walks. Tho Swedish officers have extended extend-ed every facility to Col. Frederick Foltz, who Ib in charge of the Amor-lean Amor-lean army offlccrB. The horses were immediately discmbarkod. The Marathon Mar-athon runners have taken up quarters in a country inn, where they will train along the course. |
