Show PROTESTS F0RTHAW Shearn Objects to Way Jerome Applies the Questions White Plains, N. Y., July 1 Clarence Clar-ence Shearn, counsel for Harry K. Thaw, has sent to Attorney General Carmondy a telegram protesting against tho alleged abuse which Attorney At-torney Traverso Jerome is making of his a'ppolntment of special counsel to oppose tho release of Thaw. Mr. Shearn In his message asserts that the "venom" and "bitterness" of Mr. Jerome's conduct aro appaicnt to everjone. Ho also calls attention to tho alleged bad character of several of tho witnessos summoned by tho state. Tho immediate cause of the protest, Mr. Shearn says, Is the fact that Mr. Jerome, after a previous promise to the contrary, refused to allow al-low him to examine until after tho Monday session, certain Important letters needed for the cross-examination today of Dr. AuBtln Flint, the llenlst. oo- I |
