Show PAY DAY FOR EMPLOYES OFGTY The city board of commissioners held a brief session this morning, attending at-tending to routine business. The payrolls' and claims allowed follow: Official payroll $3,034.15 . Chevers 1S.68 On the recommendation of City Attorney Valentine Gideon the judgment judg-ment of the district court In favor of Jennie Shaw for $4,5S5 and $38 costs was ordered paid The Judgment Judg-ment was rendered In the case of the city against Jennie Shaw In which the city sought to condemn certain real estate belonging to the defendant for tho opening of Sixteenth street, between AVashington and Adams avenues, ave-nues, the defendant refusing to accept ac-cept the terms offered by tho city before the suit was instituted. It was statsd by the attorney that t.be special tax for tho opening of the street had been lived and that a warrant in payment pay-ment of the Judgment hsould Issue. It was so ordered The commissioners also ordered a warrant drawn In favor of the board of control of the Carnegie Free library li-brary in tho sum of 51,500. President J. E. Carver requested bhat the warrant war-rant be drawn |
