Show Seven Strikers Shot in Dock Trouble Twenty Twen-ty Injured. London. July 31. Seven strikers were shot, one of them dying later in a hospital, and twenty others seriously se-riously injured b sticks or stones as bho result of rioting at Victoria and othor docks In London today. The chief encounter occurred at the Victoria docks, where 2,000 laborers who had been on strike for more than ten weeks, appeared at the docks in compliance with the manifesto of the dockers' federation, ordering them to resume work. They found their for-mor for-mor places occupied by non-unlonlsts taken on during the strike, who defied de-fied the union men to eject them. A severo fight nsued. Bullets, bricks and stones, flew In all directions. The police, of whom only about a dozen were present, were taken by surprise and wore powreless to suppress sup-press the disturbance. Another hot fight centered around the steamer City of Columbia, which was being loaded at one of the wharves. Unionist Union-ist workers tried to board her but were repelled bv the non-unlonlsts with revolvers, bottles and belaying pins. Many mon wore injured here, some of them with bujlets.
