That thoro will bo several claimants for the reward re-ward offered for Information leading to tho arrest and conviction of tho murderer or murderers of William A. Sandereock at Garllold on tho early morning of Nov 21, 19911, was mado evident this moinlng when Geo H. Quigley, who gave tho sheriff's force valuable information, appeared before Gov William Spry, and Insisted that ho was entitled to the reward Members of the police force of No.v Orleans, who arrested William McVey now serving a life sentence for the murder of Sandereock, In all pioba-billty pioba-billty will demand that the reward be paid to them Their contention will be that McVey would have succeeded succeed-ed In gottlng away to South America, where he was bound .had It not been for their offorts In apprehending him. Tho validity of Quigley's claim li basod on the fact that the 6herlfi"3 force was at sea as to the Identity of the murderer of Sandereock until Quiglej told them who had committed tho deed. Quigley had been In jail until un-til recently since the latter part of November, held as a witness in tho cabe. Tho fore part of this woek Judge F C Loofbourow Issued an order or-der releasing him on his own recognizance recog-nizance and vacating theorder mado heretofore requiring a $5,000 bond Quigley said this morning that he Is anxious to collect the reward monoy and leave for his home In the east.
