The average increaeo of seven per cent in wages promised by tho American Woolen company to Its striking employee em-ployee will bo "equalled by moat of tho otnor textile mills hero. Hitherto officials of other mills havo anuouueed-only that the Increase would be at least flvo per cent. President Whitman of the Arlington Arling-ton mills said tonight that while the new scale had not boon entirely worked work-ed out, seven per cent would bo the probable average. Readjustment of tho wage "System at the Pacific mills will provide an average aver-age Increase of aoven or eight per cent, It is learned, whilo in two other Bmall plants tho Increases will aver-ago aver-ago seven per cent. |
