("Labor, sing the poet, and his words , though some of us in mod-ern life seem to lose sight of the fact. Perhaps at heart we know tht value and sancity of honest toil, yet in our daily outlook .and attitude wc do not give the toiler the considera-tion and respect that is his due. Thii is wrong, and it is important that we remind ourselves that the man who works with his hands is not only helpful but absolutely necessary "tc the progress and welfare of human-ity. There is dignity and honor in honest toil and the man who per-forms it deserves the thanks and grat-itude of the world which he serves. Among the workers whose toil contributes most to the welfare and happiness of mankind the outstand-ing one is the tiller of the soil. He feeds the world. His labor, both of hand and brain, is the basis and foun-dation of all human activity ami en-deavor. Without him ,the others could not survive. All honor then, to the farmer! He deserves his title, "King of the earth." And all honor as well to every toil-er whose hand or brain contribute-- s to the world's work the man in the shop, the factory or mill, on the railroad, in the mines, on the high-ways; in stores and offices on the ranges with the cattle and sheep; ir the timber lands; in crowded cities and out in the lonely places of earth's far-flun- g areas everywhere, on land and sea or in the air! All of these millions of workers are doing their part Honor to them! Even the most iiumble has his place in the great ."theme of progress and achievement. Just as the giant el depends on the tiny cotter pin, so must in-dustry depend upon life efforts of the individual workman. CHURCH NOTICES L. D. S. CHURCH Sunday-schoo- l, 10:30 a. m.
