Show POLICE HAVE NO TRACE0F GIRL SALT LAKE, Aug. 28. According to Information obtained by the police today there Is reason for tho disappearance disap-pearance of Beatrice Knlfiing, tho 17-year-old girl who left hor home, 253 Fourth East strjeet, Friday, other than tnoBe heretofore given It Is claimed now that the girl left home because of Ill-treatment from her step-father, and thnt the girl had threatened orj several occasions o leave hor home If the treatment alleged to havo been accorded ac-corded her and her brother did not cease. 'A complete description of tho missing miss-ing girl has been sent out to different cities and towns of the state and the authorities In these places have been asked to keep a watch for her. Passenger Pas-senger and freight trains have been watched and searched, but not the slightest trace of the girl has been found. Her brother Cornelius is of the opinion the girl Is still In the city or has gone Into one of the canyons Ho1 took a lock of the girl's hair to pollco headquarters to aid in her identification iden-tification if a girl answering her description de-scription is found. Although sho was dressed In her brother's clothing, it Is not Improbable that the girl changed hor attire since leaving home, and It is pointed out, she would supply herself with clothing in plannine to leave her home. Cornelius Knlfflng, brother to the missing girl, had a conference thl3 morning with Chief Barlow and Captain-of Detectives Beckstead.
