Show Iff STATE lAEMMElIf GOES IMTO EFFECT TUESDAY Couples who plan to marry after July 1st. had better take heed of Utah's new pre-martial law or they may find their marriage plans somewhat upset, is the advice being be-ing passed out by the Utah State Board of Health. Passed by the last state legislature, legisla-ture, the law provides for an applicant ap-plicant for a marriage license to comply with the state law must first go to a physician of his choice and leave a sample of his blood. An approved laboratory test will then be made to determine if the applicant has a social disease and the report must be attached to the marriage license. . After making sure that no communicable com-municable disease exists, the physician phy-sician fills out a certificate for the marriage applicant who in turn presents it to the county clerk in order to secure a marriage mar-riage license. This procedure takes from two to three days. All cases of social diseases found as a result of the pre-maritlal examination will be reported to the state health department in the same manner as those found in routine practice. |
