Show Cow Sets Record A Utah state production record has been mo.de by a registered Holstein-Fricsian tow owned by Utah State Agricultural college, Prof. George B. Caine, dairyman of Utah Extension Service, learned learn-ed today. Carnation Josephine Beauty Inka is the new champion, taking the lead for all of Utah's senior two-year-old Holsteins milked milk-ed twice daily in the yearly division, div-ision, advanced registry test, with the production of 520.5 pounds of butterfat from 15.851 pounds of milk. The average dairy cow in the nation produces only 35 per cent as much butterfat, using U. S. department of Agriculture sta. istics for comparison. The new record holder has been classified for type, being officially rated as "very good" by the Holstein-Fri- esian association of America. |
