Show LOCALS,; The Litra-Lure Literary club of Smithfield held their second meeting meet-ing of the season at the home of Lenora Olsen Thursday. "The Shining Trail" by Iolla Fuller was reviewed by Bozella Barker. Luncheon Lun-cheon was served to 12 members and two guests who were: Mrs. G. L. Rees and Mrs. George Lar-kin. Lar-kin. Pfc. Wayne W. Geary, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Geary of Smithfield, is visiting in Smith-field Smith-field on furlough from Barkdule Field, Lousiana. In honor of Wayne a chicken dinner was served at the A. J. Peterson Camp in Blacksmith Black-smith fork Canyon on Sunday. Dinner was served to Mr. and Mrs Garland Geary and three children of Hyrum, Miss Gayle Olsen of Hyrum, Mrs. D. J. Geary, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Geary and sons Wayne and Thomas. Mrs. Glen Tout reviewed the book, "Mom Counted Six," by Mac Gardner at the Book Lauree Literary Lit-erary club's meeting at the home of Mrs. Bert Reese of Benson. Spcial guests were: Mrs. Bud Peterson Pet-erson of Logan and Mrs. . Cash Smith. A delicious tray luncheon was served by the hostess assisted by her sister, Mrs. Bud Peterson, to 16 club members end special guests. Mr. Lorenzo Roskelley of Ras-ville, Ras-ville, Calif., is visiting with relatives. rela-tives. Vsiting with his wife. Ella Paul Larsen was Loyal S. Larsen of Camp Perry Virginia. Mr. Larsen is in the U. S. Navy. Visiting with Mrs. Jane Tidwell and other relatives was Bishop and Mrs. Vernon Tidwell and daughter, Burdie of Van Nuys, California. Vincent Milligan, son of Mrs. James Milligan, who is in the Coast Guard spent a short leave visiting with friends and relatives. Mrs Worth Gutke announces the arrival of a. daughter born October 15 at Salt Lake City. . Mr. and Mrs. George Cooper of Ogden spent the weekend visiting friends and relatives. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Seth Godfrey and family was Mr. and Mrs. Max Fonnesbeck and son of Salt Lake. 1-C Fireman David Phillips of Tiburon, California is spending a ten day furlough visiting with his mother, Mrs. Ella Phillips. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Berry of , Salt Lake announce the arrival of a daughter born recently at a Salt Lake hospital. Mrs. Berry is the former Norma Toolson. Mrs. Rinda Chambers spent Monday Mon-day at Ogden visiting with Dr. and Mrs. Orson Dames and family. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Monson announce the safe arrival of a daughter born at the Budge hospital. hos-pital. This is the fifth child of the couple. Mrs. Emma Hansen was a guest Monday of Mrs. Walter Hansen of Ogden. Mrs. Jay.Knudson attended a party Monday evening for Miss Olive Gibbons of Logan who is being married in the near future. At the home of Mr. and Mrs. George F. White a dinner was given in honor of their son and son-in-law, Cpl. Thomas E. White of Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi, and Lieut. L. H. Savage enroute to Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Guests included in-cluded were: the host and hostess, hos-tess, the guests of honor, Miss Donna Johnson, Miss Melva Griffin of Logan, Fireman 1-c David Philips Phil-ips of Tiburan, Calif., who is on a 15 day furlough, Mrs. L. H. Savage Sav-age and Mrs. Robert L. Berrcy. Mrs. Naomi Casper attended the 39th General .session of the Eastern Star at Salt Lake City for three days. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Hyde of Shelley are visiting with relatives for a week. Cpl. Thomas E. White of Camp Van Dorn, Mississippi, is spending a 12 day furlough visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George F. White. Cpl. White is in the Engineer En-gineer Corps. Mrs. Raymond Cannon of Logan entertained the Junior Literary club at her home Wednesday evening. ev-ening. Mrs. Leo Nelson reviewed the book, ''The Human Comedy", by William Sarogan.
