Show Smithfield Stake Holds Annual Day i The Bee Hive organization of the Smithfield Stake M. I. A. held its annual Swarm Day and graduation exercises under the, direction of Stake Bee Keepers Sylv-i-.v Toolson, Norma Peterson and Telma Thompson in Clark-ston, Clark-ston, Friday evening. One hundred hund-red and five girls participated in the exercises which was an impressive im-pressive picturization of Bee Hive activities during the last 2 5 years. Bee Hive work of today was contrasted with that done i in 1915. Girls from each of the seven wards of the Stake appeared appear-ed on the program. As a special feature a large and beautifully decorated cake bearing 25 candles and decorat- ed in blue, white and silver Bee Hive colors was cut and served to all Bee Hive girls and their Bee Keepers. Graduation certificates and advancement ad-vancement in rank awards were presented by Gwendella Thorn-ley, Thorn-ley, stake president of the Y. W. M. I. A. Julia Griffin, Bee Keeper of Clarkston Ward was presented a three year service pin and Mrs. Ruth Spring of Amalga won a 5 year service pin which will he presented by a general board member at the June convention. As a part of Bee Hive Week, May 6 to 10 the Smithfield Stake Bee Hive organization will present pre-sent a program over KVNU on Tuesday, May 7. Bee Hive girls participating on this radio program pro-gram are Carla Rae W'inn, Donna Don-na Clair Smith, Rhonda Raymond, Ray-mond, Tacy Chambers, Alma Dcppe and Kathryn Roskclley. The Fourth Ward girls chorus directed by Helen Larson', will furnish the music. |
