Granger, Grang-er, member of the Public Service Commission, has entered the race for the Democratic nomination for representative in congress from the First Utah District. A native ot St. George and resident of Cedar City since he was six years old, Mr. Granger 'has played a prominent role in the political, civic, religious and educational life of Southern Utah. A farmer and livestock man, he first gained political recognition as Mayor of Cedar City, a position to which he wa3 elected three successive times. Then followed three successive elections to the state house of represeu-uativeV tile firet in ii2. In 1935 he was chosen Speaker of tbe House. Following the close of the 193? session, Mr. Granger was appointed a mem-per mem-per of the reorganized Public Service Commission, fomerly the Public Utilities Commission, by Governor Henry H. Blood and. has served in that capacity since. |
