Show Burial Given Former Resident Tetania, . Ida., Funeral services for Samuel Swaner, 88. were held Friday at Tetonia with, the Ward Bishop in charge. Burial was in the Haden cemetery under the direction of the W. M.. Hansen Han-sen and son mortuary of St. Anthony. '. . Mr. . Swaner was born January 28, 1852, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Swaner. He came west, crossing the plains at the age of nine with the L. D. S. handcart pioneers, pio-neers, locating at Smithfield, Utah. He died Tuesday. In 1888 he moved to Idaho, locating lo-cating at Rexburg as a freighter. On November 20, 1873, he married mar-ried Oelie Eliza Morrell at Smith-field, Smith-field, Utah. In May, 1889, they moved to the Teton valley, where he has since resided. His first wife died on November Novem-ber 22, 1901, and in 1906 he married mar-ried Rose Shaffer. Surviving, besides his widow, are six children; Willard Swaner of Tetonia, Elvira Griffiths of California, Glen Swaner of Felt and Shirley Swaner of Maine; one brother, Heber Swaner of Ogden; one sister, Mi's. Addie Staker of Bingham; twelve grandchildren; and several great-grand children |
