Show Stamp Endorsement Regulations Revised ' Continuing their efforts to stamp out . black market gasoline and the use of counterfeit or stolen coupons, the endorsement regulations for holders of "E" and "R" coupons have been changed, announced O. Guy Cardon, chairman chair-man of the Logan war price and rationing board. Beginning March 15, drivers of farm equipment may endorse a strip or block of coupons when purchasing gasoline instead of writing his name and address on every coupon as he has done in the past. The same rule applies to the farmer with a 50-gallon tank on his farm. Previously he was not asked to endorse his coupons cou-pons at all, but now he must do so. ,The tank-wagon driver is forbidden for-bidden to accept his coupons unless un-less they carry the endorsement. He may write his name and address ad-dress across a block of stamps, and : may use an ordinary pencil instead of the indelible or ink endorsement required . by other coupon holders. "The coupon endorsement has proved to be OPA"s best weapon against gasoline black markets and the only fool-proof way to trace counterfeit and stolen coupons cou-pons to their source. The new form of endorsement was devised to aid the farmer and to extend this protection to ,E" and "R" coupon users," the chairman said. |
