Show Memorial Day Services At Lewiston LEWISTON Impressive Memorial Me-morial day services were held at the Lewiston cemetery, Friday, May 30., Under the direction of The American Legion, Post No. 50, and the auxiliary with Legion Commander Leland Van Orden in charge. Community singing, "America," led by auxiliary chorister Ray Harrison; invocation, Chaplain Clarence Wiser; trombone duet, "Whispering Hope," Farrell Tip-pettg Tip-pettg and Oral Ballam Jr., of Richrnond; talk, C. C. Nielson, a member of the city council. Thirty seconds silence in honr of departed depart-ed dead; reading, "The Flag Is Passing By," Leda Pond. Speaker for the occasion was President Alfred Chambers of Smithfield; trombone duet, "God be with Us 'till We meet Again."; benediction, Auxiliary Chaplain Odessa Boman; Bo-man; "Taps", Sidntv Hendricks. A large crowd had assembled not only from our own city but also from cities and towns from Utah and Idaho, met to pay respects res-pects to their departed dead. |
