He perhaps thought that if we had the Japs taking shots at us on our west side, we would SL'nd fewer munitions to our friends in Europe. It may have that effect for a few weeks, but the main center of our enemies is Berlin, Germany, and our country will hardly divert its principal aid from that nest of hornets. The main job of the United States will probably be to furnish munitions to our allies. There are plenty of men in Europe and Asia to fight the Axis, but they lack sufficient arms. Give them the arms, and they snould be able to lick the Axis, without our sending- any great army abroad. |
