Show A Sad Occurance. Fasvtte, Dec. 25.-To the Editor of Thk Sentinel -Der Sir: On December Decem-ber 23 William Mellor was making preparations to scald a pig. A large kettle of boiling water was already on hand and all hands busy for the occasion. Their little son, Samuel Smith Miller, aged 18 months, was placed in a higi chair, suppoeed to be out of the Way j aDd all right. The chair by some I means fell over and precipitated tS9 child into the kettle of boiling water, bead foremost. His neck and arms were scalded to such an extent that the little follow suffered untold pain and agony j for four hours after. His sai-jeing was heartrending to behold. After the expiration ex-piration of the fonr honra they were not so visible although, of course, his agonizing features was an index to his afllcition. tie is the son of William and Delila Meller. Ia their bereavement they have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole settlement. We, the residents of Fayette, nnitedly ask Almighty God to bless and comfort those, onr brother and sister Mellor, in their affliction a.id bereavement. Yours respectfully, John Swain. |
