Tue fight occurred at sunr se Sunday morning, forty five miles from Rio Grande City, near the Javolnia aud Luna de Gato ranc ies. W. W. Shelly, sheriff of Star county, with seven men scouting about, came upon twenty outlaws, out-laws, and the fighting immediately began. Sheriff Shelly aua Depuiy Carlino were slightly wounded. The officers had to retreat, but not till after they killed two of the bandits. |
