One of the most foolish bets made on the city election was between Abe Jones and another young man. The loser was to wheel tho winner down Main street in a wheel-barrow. Jones won but the '""" bet was not paid. His generous nature would not permit him to allow his friend to push a wheel-barrow, and thus the bet was declared off amid uiauy thanks from the loser.
