Show victor J nelson new head of american legion victor J nelson was chosen wednesday night by members ol of the american lesion legion post 67 as their new commander tor for 1931 1951 52 to succeed lee feaman other officers elected to aid mr 2 nelson were cleve peterson as first vice commander H pratt wright second vice commander lawrence S uell bell sergeant ot of arms and albert C welch chaplain francis E bray was retained as adjutant beginning his eighth year in this office in a separate business session the legion auxiliary selected mrs thelma dell bell as president preil dent to succeed mrs airs gertrude bray mrs dorothy wright was named first f vice president mrs elizabeth wright second vice president daisy crouch secretary treasurer and erma toone chaplain mrs anna sommers was retained as sergeant of arms m and mrs mr edith peterson will remain historian i plans were made tar fox memorial services to be held at veterans graves on memorial day in cooperation with veterans of foreign wars poppy day will be held all over the nation on may 26 two girls were named to represent morgan at girls state in logan in july they were elizabeth wright and merriam dickson during the evening the poppy posters submitted by senior and junior groups of high school were judged by both the legion and the auxiliary there were is 18 posters entered in the contest winners of the senior group were dick francis first firs t bl merrell errell francis Franc lg second and J jean ean dark clark kenny wilde and avis smith honorable mention in the junior group vaughan smith took first place john james second and kay winters honorable mention the he posters of dick francis and vaughan smith were taken to the meeting last friday night and will be judged with others ot of |
