Show high school play the patsy well received the morgan high school play the pat patsy W was presen presented ted friday evening december 1 to an audience of friends admirers and townsfolk the play written by barry conners was about the life of the harrington family eugene platt did an excellent job as the harried father bill harrington although seemingly henpecked by his hysterical wife mary wright he succeeded in establishing order in the quarrelsome household by letting mrs harrington and the two daughters grace and patricia know that he was still head of the family patricia the youngest daughter who received little sympathy from anyone in the cast except her father was well portrayed by charlene chariene francis shirley randall as grace did a fine job of making life miserable jhb social standing of mrs harrington and grace held no importance to the tax driver trip busty donald sherman or to mr air 0 flaherty steve thurston the comical character who succeeded in causing a great deal of trouble A great deal of the difficulty between grace and patricia was caused as usual by their male interests it seemed that a broken engagement between grace and billy caldwell her wealthy good looking fiancee left grace to prey on pa tri cias one and only tony anderson patricia however had already convinced tony dennis turner that she was the girl for him and with a little explanation on the part of billy robert sherwood grace realized her mistake incidentally it was billys old girl friend sadie buchanan who caused the rift sadie played by barbara smedley was only a little distracted by all these goings on tire the backstage crew consisted of frank anderson ronald london and keith larson who handled the lighting sound effects and props prompting was done by ellen carroll makeup was under the direction of dark clark wright sets were built by peter evans and barbara killpack the music for the play was provided by J L terry and the school orchestra the play was presented under the direction of charles stuart of the english department part ment |
