Show morgan officials attend state AAA convention continuation of our american standard of living and our modern civilization depend on how well we take care of our land and water resources was the emphatic statement of howard francis chairman of the morgan county AAA committee upon his return from attending the utah state conference of county AAA committeemen held in salt lake city attending the conference from morgan along with mr air francis were sam hopkin carl phillips and margaret argaret Al little mr air francis said the conference stressed the importance of having farmers familiar with the provisions of the agricultural conservation program so they can use it to protect the nations most valuable resource our soil he said the program im is being made more flexible each year to meet the conservation needs of individual farms and ranches county and community committeemen are being given more responsibility in administering the program this year 10 per cent of the county allocation of conservation funds can be used on a practice selected by the county committee through a conservation needs survey the county committee has gone over the county to determine what needs to be done to protect soil and water resources and build better farms and ranches mr air francis said that county committeemen are being given more opportunity and responsibility in making recommendations for the farm program each year |
