Show george heiner george heiner 91 ox team pioneer who crossed V the plains from nebraska to utah I 1 at the age of 18 16 died sunday morning I 1 may 16 at the family residence tt I 1 after an illness of several months 1 he was born on march 26 1846 at baltimore md a son of martha and adelgunde dietzel heiner and came to utah with his parents in 1859 settling in salt lake city eer who crossed the plans from mr heiner a former mayor had resided in morgan since 1863 he was a member of the first school board in the county being elected in 1864 he served as postmaster several years and as supervisor of roads he was a member of the high priests quorum of the north morgan ward and had previously served as bishops counselor he H e was married to mary henderson in december 1867 in the salt lake city L D S endowment house she died in 1882 and mr heiner was later married to c sarah sari jane taggart she died in morgan in september 1933 mr heiner is survived by the f following ol 01 sons and daughters mrs bert thomas and mrs nettle nettie guildo guild lyman wyo mrs eliza durrant and john M heiner ririe idaho angus and bishop horace heiner and mrs clara smith morgan mrs angus E berlin ogden mrs george telford Tel tord west weber and mrs eli fowles burley idaho there are 70 grandchildren great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren funeral services were held wednesday afternoon at one in the morgan county high school ardito auditorium gium the services follow violin prelude richard rawle solo 0 my father albert carrigan invocation thomas palmer solo one On sweetly solemn thought mrs myrtle richards speakers hannah grover hegstead and henry taggart of salt sa it lake city solo when you come to the end of a perfect day mrs RB sanford speakers E E anderson G S heiner and james palmer solo coin home mrs bertha porter benediction melvln melvin rollins of lyman wyo interment was made in the no morgan cemetery henry heiner of ogden dedicated the grave grandsons were pallbearers pall bearers and grandchildren and great grandchildren were flower girls |
