Show in tta memoriam I 1 mrs grace pearl sutherland perry 69 wife of S D perry well known intermountain printer and executive of the utah state slate press association died sunday morning march 6 1937 at of cerebral hemorrhage at the family residence in coalville Co alville mrs perry was born january 18 1868 a daughter of mr and mrs D L sutherland in bushnell ill she graduated from the high school land and the western 11 normal orm a I 1 college in bushnell she was married to mr perry december 17 1890 in november 1892 at red bud III the young couple lost their home printing business and all their possessions in a cyclone from red bud they went to iowa engaging in the printing business in libertyville Libert B batavia atavia pleasant plain and packwood in 1904 they emigrated to gillette worming Woy ming where they took up a homestead and also established the towns first nevis newspaper paper in the spring of 1922 the perrys left gillette and in the next three years operated newspapers in nevada and wyoming the most important ones being at rock springs jackson and pinedale Pm Pin edale wyoming and nevada in the fall of 1925 they acquired the newspapers at morgan andl and coalville Co alville and since that time have lived in these towns until toe last few years mrs perry has been very active in the printing profession being an expert type setter and in numerous ways aiding mr perry in the establishment and publishing of their various papers mr and mrs perry are both recognized 0 as be eing being pioneers in the true sense of the word in the printing in industry of the west mrs perry was a member of the presbyterian church and was a member of pythian sisters moorcroft lodge in wyoming and was I 1 I 1 a a ranking state officer of this or gania aaion surviving besides her husband are four of their seven children childrens 1 mrs G E miller midwest wyo walter D perry south pass wyom w N ME 9 3 N q ax vi N p X CAN VA C kenneth perry Co alville and mrs william quirk pioche nev six grandchildren and five brothers charles sutherland eugene oregon george sutherland anaconda montana william sutherland macomb ill HI and waldo and archie sutherland gillette wyo services were held wednesday at two at the stake tabernacle in Co alville with bishop charles L frost officiating the services were as follows mixed quartet oh my father mrs A L geary mrs F D williams mr george Robin robinson and mr glenn thomas invocation john W lamb quartet 11 1 I need thee every hour speaker P H neeley solo the holy hour edith johnson speaker G S heiner of appreciation bishop frost duet abide with me J T J johnson and edith johnson benediction J D barber interment was at the Co alville cemetery with joseph H hopkin dedicating the grave pall bearers were J H roberts eugene frost F D williams melvin binnquist BIon quist J don birch steve stones mowers flowers were we re carried by members of the Co alville and moran relief societies 30 |
