| Show TOWNSEND MEETING DRAWS enthusiastic attendance A townsend meeting was held friday july 17 in the court house the attendance was not large but the interest shown made up for lack of members the meeting was addressed by warren W porter and D M anderson and morg certainly gave us a good talk these talks were followed by mr carpenter the state manager of the townsend plan sent here from california most of his speech dealt with the simplicity of the plan the plan Is so simple that apparently it is difficult for so many people to grasp it our political information lias has and is coming from the highly educated and those inI in the higher brackets of finance financed therefore we are always looking tor for something very complicated I 1 that is the reason the average citizen thinks that any plan originating I 1 il from the common people is not worth listening to naturally the rich fellow being backed up by the brain trust will will say the plan is fantastic and not workable reinhardt olsen |
