Show Authorities Discover a Still in Sing Sing OSS1N1NU, N. Y. Slug Sing attaches at-taches announced that a copper still had been fouud, three prisoners locked up accused of drinking and un attendant compelled to take the pledge In a big prohibition drive Just launched In the prison by Prlnclpul Keeper Thomas Mclnerney. Prison attendants said that a supply of liquor, made from fermented prune Juice and potatoes, was found and that two convicts were caught operating the still. Warden Lewis E. Lawes, although admitting the "arrest" of three prisoners prison-ers accused of drinking, denies that any "hooch" was found. However, he admitted that there was a hunt for a still and that a mysterious cupper up-puratus up-puratus was fouud inside the walls and confiscated. "We heard there was some prune Juice fermenting," said Warden Lnwes, "but we were unable to find It. As long as Uiere are prunes used in prison there'll be a cbunce to get prune Juice." . The warden admitted that William Tammany, John MeGuIre, alias Me-Gravv, Me-Gravv, and J. H. Nolan. were accused of drlnklpg and locked up." Nolan was released upon orders from the war-dtn, war-dtn, but Tammany and McGuIre were plfced In solitary confinement until they could be tried In the warden's court. When Warden Lawes was asked bout the assertion .of prison em- ployees that a still was found In one of the prison factory buildings be said : "It Is a little copper receptacle fouud In a room in the same building where the shoe shop Is located.
