liberty bell which proclaimed the declara declara- n of American freedom Many years ago At 11 am a.m. the Freedom bell will ring again in concert with other bells throughout the nation to mark the event Flags will be displayed both Sunday and Monday on Main Street and are urged to display flags at home on both of these days Chairman Jensen stated Manti is becoming becoming becom becom- ing noted as a city of flags on holidays he said so lets let's show that we know and appreciate ap ape the meaning of the day by flying a flag from every ery house in town All of the ham eggs and ho hot cakes you can eat will greet early risers at the American American Amer Amen ican lean Legion Independence Day breakfast which will be served at the American LegIon Legion Legion Le Le- Le- Le gion Hall starting at 6 am a.m. and continuing until 9 am a.m. Cost of the breakfast is 1 per person or 5 per family Activities at the Memorial l Park will get underway at 9 a am a.m. m. m according to the chairman chairman chairman chair chair- man and will continue through the day First activity will be a Tetherball contest for boys and girls age 8 to 12 Contests will be held for separate separate sno pronto pups and cotton candy while the Manti South Ward Elders Elder's Quorum will operate the Hamburger Hamburger Hamburger Ham Ham- burger and soda pop stand Homemade candy and popcorn popcorn
