Show r i r r. r rr rr OBITUARIES r Monday Funeral Eulogizes Lillie M Ma Barton The life and services of Mrs Lillie May Garrick Barton were eulogized at funeral services services servo ices Monday in the Ephraim North Ward Chapel with Bishop Donald C. C Dobson con con- ducting Mrs Barton 85 died at 10 am a.m. March 26 at her home apparently from a a. heart attack attack at at- tack br brought on by a severe coughing spell She had been beena a semi invalid for forr the past few years and especially since suffering suffering suf sur fering an attack of flu about six weeks before her hen death Mrs C. C C. C Strode wh who has been staying at the B Barton home each day was with her when she died and Mr Barton arrived moments later Active in church work since girlhood she had been a member of the Relief Society more than fifty years and served as counselor in the Ephraim North Ward for eight years She had also taught in Primary MIA and Sunday School continuing in the lat latter latter lat lat- ter until failing health caused her to quit She had served as class leader in Relief Society for some years and had been beena a choir member many years A charter member of the Fort Ephraim Camp Daughters Daughters Daughters Daugh Daugh- of Utah Pioneers she had served as captain of the unit She belonged to the Ephraim Ladies Literary Club for more than 40 years and had served both as president and secre secre- tary She is survived by two sons George Barton Midvale and Dr Donald Barton Salt Lake City who is a member of the University of Utah faculty and also bishop of one of the University University Uni Uni- wards seven grandchildren grandchildren grand grand- children eight great dren and a sister Mrs Ellen Kearns Mills Wyoming Prelude and postlude organ music at the funeral was played played played play play- ed by Armada B. B Cox who also accompanied the choir directed direct direct- ed by Melba K Armstrong as they sang Though Trials and The Lord Is My Shepherd Other music included included in in- two vocal solos I 1 Walked Today Where Jesus Walked by Cannon Thomson Salt Lake City and In My Fathers Father's House Are Many Mansions by Melba K Armstrong Armstrong Arm Arm- strong both accompanied by Mrs Ardith Peterson Speakers were Roscoe C. C Cox Reuel E. E Christensen and Bishop Dobson The family prayer prior to the services was by Bishop Joseph A. A Barfuss of Midvale a law grandson invocation was by Evan C. C Erickson the benediction by Lawrence Hermansen Hermansen Her Her- mansen and the grave was dedicated by Ivan W. W Young of Provo a son in Pallbearers were Mardell Marden Garrick Ephraim Gilbert Fjeldsted and Alton Jensen Gunnison and Gary Roylance all nephews Devon Barton a grandson and Larry Barfuss a great-grandson great both of Mid Mid- vale Honorary pallbearers four of whom were unable to tobe tobe tobe be present were Charles G.
